Soita Mummolle

lots of articles and action!

Between yesterday and today 3 articles came out about Soita Mummolle campaign, respectively on Vartti, Kirkko&Kaupunki and Helsinki Times.

Have a look at them, I am sure they are gonna boost the success of next week Soita Mummolle Päivä (I wish Kamppi’s square to be flooded with people). 🙂

By the way, yesterday our knit-guerrilla with hearts took place in the morning: 154 hand knitted hearts were left on 5 trams and 5 metro trains in the morning. The initiative awakened curiosity and participation, a lot of passengers took the hearts with them, came to speak to me and loved the project! It was a lovely experience also for me: direct feedback on the spot is great – especially if it’s positive! – and I am so happy that this campaign is managing to trigger emotions and thoughts in people’s mind.

Yesterday was also the date of our last Street Action: since me and my helper Karolina (thanks for joining anyway!) were freezing for the wind, we left the center early and we didn’t manage to collect too many photos. But the good news is that many among teenagers knew already about the campaign and approached us saying “Here! I want to be portrayed!”. So despite the cold sudden wind, the youth warmed us with their “Siisti!” keyword of appreciation 🙂

I will publish the last portraits later on during the day, stay tuned!

hearts from all over the world!

Here is a picture of all the crochet hearts that will be used next week for the knit-guerrilla for our campaign.

It’s such a great thing that our supporters are not only from Finland, but also from USA, Australia and Netherlands!

A big thanks to Diana, Carola, Carol, Riitta, Lee and Tea!

soita mummolle street action#5

Hei folks!

the second last Street Action of the campaign took place today and as usual we hunted many great support photos. We were quite much helped by Pink’s concert in Kaisaniemenpuisto, so that we found the park conveniently packed of people in good mood.

I want to thank everybody we met today, plus of course Krista and Karolina who were today’s volunteer photographers and kept me good company!

The most of the pictures from today’s Street Action are already published in the photogallery section. There are still few missing, from Krista’s camera, so if you don’t find yours yet please be patient and give us girl the time to exchange files. 🙂

Now looking forward to Friday! I am going to be interviewed about the campaign by both Vartti and Kirkko&Kaupunki, and I’ll reveal to the press some previously unreleased details about Soita Mummolle Päivä, which -I remind you! – it’s gonna take place on 11.8.2010.

Do you want to help spreading the Soita Mummolle’s message? Do you want a nice present for your grandma, grandpa, special one or to your grandchildren? Get today your Soita Mummolle (or Soita Ukille) t-shirt or shopping bag… And be sure to have one before 11th August 2010, the Soita Mummolle Päivä!

This is the address of the online shop: http://soitamummolle.spreadshirt.fi/

So far me and my colleagues in Decode Research Group were the only ones who had the Soita Mummolle t-shirt. But since so much people stopped me on the street asking me “Where can I buy that shirt?”, I decided to make them available for everybody.

Soita Mummolle will use the sales income to cover the campaign expenses, while the surplus will be donated for good causes (read later on our blog where the money will go, I will keep you transparently informed step by step… and if you have good ideas to what activities/charities destnate the moment just email me!). So I am not trying to milk your money, no worries!
According to the website policies where the online shop is hosted -spreadshirt.fi-, Soita Mummolle will receive only a percent of the money you pay for the shirt. And it will be payed every 4 months, only if the amount is the total income at least 50 €. Most of the price you pay will just cover the production costs.

In case the sales are too low and the site won’t pay anything to Soita Mummolle, well, at least you got an awesome t-shirt or bag and helped spreading our motto around! 🙂
